Ken -- a longtime police officer near Buffalo, NY -- had the misfortune of having his own home burglarized. When he tried finding an affordable company to secure his home he became so frustrated with the choices that he decided to create his own. He used the knowledge and experience that he gained on the streets as an investigator and crime prevention officer to build the SHIELD Security Systems brand.
